Automaton Tourbillon Blue Custom made Wall Clock, Handcrafted Steampunk Decor, Mechanical moving Gears, Wooden Home Kitchen Living Room and Office design, Personalized Decorative Art, Gift

We created the Automaton Wall Clock series getting inspired not only by old mechanical wrist watches which gear motors seem to us real works of art but mechanical toys which were quite popular among the rich in XVIII in France.

This wall clock belongs to our new Automaton Bite Wall Clock series but the main difference is that here all the gears move smoothly and silently together with the clock mechanism. This beautiful effect of motion doubles because of the mirror back layer. The gears are powered by 4 AA batteries. Moreover this Automaton wall clock is much bigger than the other ones.

In horology, a tourbillon (/tÊŠÉ™rˈbɪljÉ™n/; French: [tuÊbijɔ̃] “whirlwind”) is an addition to the mechanics of a watch escapement. Developed around 1795 and patented by the French-Swiss watchmaker Abraham-Louis Breguet on June 26, 1801, a tourbillon aims to counter the effects of gravity by mounting the escapement and balance wheel in a rotating cage, to negate the effect of gravity when the timepiece (thus the escapement) is stuck in a certain position. By continuously rotating the entire balance wheel/escapement assembly at a slow rate (typically about one revolution per minute), the tourbillon averages out positional errors.
