Love love love! Floating without corbels
It came quickly and in great shape. The mantel came ready to stain with … I bought this for our fireplace. We were remodeling an old, outdated fireplace and mantel. I bought the unfinished version so I could stain it exactly to the color I wanted. It came quickly and in great shape. The mantel came ready to stain with a very smooth finish. I hit it once with 220 grit just to be sure. It took the stain perfectly. I topped it with finishing wax (3 coats) and it looks stellar! Hanging it took 10 minutes (mostly drilling holes and attaching the hanging strip.)…
Beautiful, but… I’d love to give the mantle shelf a five-star review, as it is quite lovely – rustic, as described, beautifully stained, blends very well with the beams in the family room. However, the hanging cleat supplied is so warped, it’s impossible to attach it evenly (straight) to the wall. We were able to make it work for the short term (Christmas holiday) but we will need to take it down and reinstall it with a proper cleat.I’ve contacted the company directly, through the website, and I’ll…
